The Government of Maharashtra’s Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection has initiated a state-wide drive directing all ration card holders to complete their Aadhaar-based eKYC via the newly launched Mera eKYC mobile application.

This step is being taken to ensure proper identification of beneficiaries under the Public Distribution System (PDS) and to eliminate ineligible or duplicate entries from the ration database.

🔹 eKYC Process Overview:

  1. Uninstall any old version of the app and download Mera eKYC from the Play Store.
  2. Enable GPS and select Maharashtra.
  3. Enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number linked with your ration card.
  4. Authenticate using the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
  5. Complete facial verification by aligning your face within the designated frame.
  6. Blink once to register the biometric scan and wait for confirmation.

📜 Legal Note (Mandatory Compliance Clause):

As per directions issued by the competent authority under the Maharashtra Public Distribution System (Control) Order, it is compulsory for all ration card holders availing foodgrains under the PDS to complete their eKYC within the stipulated timeframe. Failure to comply may result in temporary suspension or denial of subsidized foodgrain entitlement until successful verification is completed.

All eligible beneficiaries are hereby advised to treat this eKYC requirement as mandatory, and ensure its completion through either self-verification via smartphone or assistance from authorized centers (e.g., CSCs, ration shops, ward offices).
